Sheta's workouts are awesome!! I’ve been seeing Sheta for a few months now and seen dramatic changes in my energy levels. I have lost 11cms from my body, my clothes are getting looser and my arms, legs and stomach is getting toned and I feel great!
I’m most excited to slide into those sexy summer dresses. Sheta is a fun person, energetic and motivated and also disciplined. I need someone to motivate me because when I’m on my own, I think I’ve reached my peak but Sheta pushes you that little bit more and you get results!
I would highly recommend Sheta to anyone who wants expert advice on weight loss, effective training and increasing your energy; the nutritious meals are great too, easy to make and very tasty. Sheta is very friendly and approachable; she gives you positive encouragement while you are working out and reminds you of your goals and how great you are doing. She is a leader in the health and fitness industry and if you want the best from a personal trainer, I would recommend Sheta.

Having turned 40 and discovering that what I ate and drank no longer went in and disappeared, but decided to hang around (my waist mainly), I made the decision to do something about it before the rolls turned into a pot belly.
Having never had to worry about my weight in the past it came as a bit of a challenge to now have to start to exercise regularly and so I decided to head to the gym. While plodding along thru my program one day you came and started working out beside me and conversation between us started, which was not usual at the gym, as people seem to stick in their groups.
You struck me as a motivated, positive and friendly person and it didn’t take long for a friendship to develop. When I found out that you had completed training as a Personal Trainer I had no hesitation enlisting your services, based on what I knew of you as a friend.
Man was I in for a shock!! I thought my sessions would be relaxed and filled with pleasant conversation but I was pushed to extend my boundaries by your take no excuses attitude to training me. I have discovered parts of my body that I never new could hurt and have found muscles that I’m sure never existed prior to working with you.
Two years on, an I’m still coming back for more, what can I say other than a big thanks. You have kept me on track, motivated and focused. I have observed the way you interact with all your clients and know that I made the right choice two years ago in coming to you. I have enjoyed your no nonsense approach to training and look forward to many more years of it.
I would have no problem recommending you to other people (already have a couple of times) and would like to thank you for your friendship.

When I first turned to Sheta for help I wanted to get back into my ‘skinny’ jeans, at least two sizes away and I needed to gain control of my bad eating habits.
Having been a gym member for five years, I thought I knew how to make wise eating and exercise choices. Obviously this was not the case as it did not matter how hard I worked - sometimes going to the gym twice a day – I was not achieving my goals. I knew that my eating was having a direct effect on my size but could not figure out how to get the correct balance.
As I tend to be a bit of an all or nothing type, with very unrealistic goals, if I do not see results quickly I get disheartened and give up or search for new methods, or new trainers! Working with Sheta has bought about results faster than I thought they possibly could with a two-fold approach: Sensible eating and Exercise.
She has given me simple, easy to follow recipes and a menu plan so I know what my body needs to keep the balance of weight loss and fuel and the exercise programme is tailored specifically for me, with my exact goals in mind, a long with some fun and challenging spots thrown in for my low boredom threshold.
Sheta is there whenever I have questions or feel my motivation slipping, even offering to ring me at 5am to get me up for the gym if I need her to!
I am well and truly into the ‘skinny’ jeans and with Sheta’s help I am now setting and tackling new goals and personal challenges.
KAYE
When I first met you I was over 80kilos. At only 162cm, that means that I was nearly as wide as I was tall. When I sat down my stomach also rested on my legs – I was that big!
I hadn’t been in a gym before and you gave me lots of encouragement and also lots of advice to help improve my overall health. You kept me motivated so that I didn’t give up.
As I hit hurdles in my life, you were there, supporting me, never judging me and being a friend.
After seeing you perform in a body building show, I decided that I wanted to give it a go myself. Not an easy feat when you are approaching 50!
You took this as a great challenge, and in November, was there to see me do my first show, just after my 50th birthday. During this time, you kept me motivated, and on show day you were amazing at helping me transform with my tanning and makeup at 6 in the morning – even when you had your own to do. Backstage you helped me stay relaxed yet focused and when I stood on the stage I felt extremely proud of my achievement, and the ‘new’ body I had.
You never doubted me – and now I’m looking forward to doing more shows. Thank you for turning me from ‘fat-mum’ to ‘fit-mum’. I’ll never be fat again!

My fiancé and I had set the wedding date for just over a year after our son was born so I tried to lose some weight by myself while on maternity leave and managed to lose some, but knew I needed help to stay motivated and to get my new mummy body under control. I was overweight when I got pregnant & during my pregnancy I put on another 30 kgs.
I decided when I went back to work that that was the time to do it, and called Sheta whose advertisement I had found in a wedding brochure.
Sheta was great! I had a nutrition and exercise plan within a few days, and had booked my training sessions for a few weeks in advance to make sure that I developed good habits.
However, being back at work full time and having a baby that still woke several times during the night, I found that my initial goal was not realistic. I was too exhausted for the commitment that my goal required.
This is when I found Sheta’s support absolutely fantastic. Not only did she motivate me to keep going to the gym and to not give up, but on days where it just seemed all too much she would give me a hug and tell me how well I was doing.
Without her, I would not have been able to achieve the weight loss and change in body shape that I did. I loved my wedding day and felt beautiful, not the least bit ashamed of my body. I can’t thank Sheta enough for that; it’s what I had dreamt of.
Sheta is continuing to help me change my life for the better. My new goal is to be at my goal weight by my first wedding anniversary, a realistic goal, even with a baby that still wakes every night!
DONNA
Sheta, I can’t thank you enough for your invaluable advice and support which has enabled me to finally lose weight, gain body strength and endurance and eat more!
As you know I have been a regular gym attendee for 3 years and although I was achieving better levels of fitness and muscle tone, I couldn’t reduce my weight. I was starving myself, limiting myself to low GI foods- losing a couple of kilos and then putting them back on within a few days! I was living on protein drinks and protein bars and feeling like crap.
I am amazed at the difference following your food plan and workout advice has done for me. In four weeks I have lost 2 kilograms, am feeling stronger than ever during my workouts and I am eating like a queen. I have even had some complete ‘blow outs’ with my diet and hit the booze on a number of occasions yet I still feel great and the weight is coming off.
Not once have I felt deprived, grumpy or overwhelmed about sticking to the food plan and exercise regime.
What has been really incredible is the big reductions in my body measurements (shame about the bust !) and the reduced sum of my skinfolds. My total body fat % is lower than it has ever been which is really hard to achieve at my age ( 48yrs).
I am very grateful for your wealth of knowledge about food, cooking and nutraceuticals , you seem to have an easy solution for every dilemma.
What’s been most important for me has been your ever-present support and encouragement.
CAROLYN.
Iwrite this testimonial in support of Sheta as a personal trainer. I have been a member of Les Mills in Auckland for over 20 years and during that time have had several personal trainers. I used the services of the in-house nutritionists at Les Mills also. When my family relocated to Hamilton I transferred my membership with Les Mills and set about finding myself a new pt.I had observed Sheta for a couple of months, working with other clients and quickly realised that in order for me to achieve my goals, Sheta was the trainer for me. I have been working with Sheta for two months now and the results achieved already have been nothing short of fantastic.
Whilst I was not new to the gym by any means, as everyone knows, things get stale after a while and I was stuck in a rut of going a few times a week then slacking off and not going back to the gym for a few weeks.Sheta sat down with me on our first meeting and I outlined where I was at and what I wanted to achieve. During that time, I noticed some photographs of Sheta competing in figure shaping and I was hugely impressed with her physique.
I realised then that I had finally found the ultimate trainer – a trainer who was not only a woman but was a mum also, was incredibly dedicated to her sport and extremely knowledgeable. Sheta brings to her training sessions a myriad of great things; she has tremendous integrity, a great sense of humour, a keen understanding of how people work, she also has a vast knowledge of nutrition, training techniques and standards. Sheta is always professional, on time and focused on her clients 100%.
I myself have never met a trainer with such a professional purpose and approach. However it is all done with truly honest friendliness and a huge sense of caring. After I signed up with Sheta she presented me with a disc of recipes for me to try out plus plenty of printed information to keep me on the straight and narrow. This was another first in service from a pt for me.I am 42 and even after just a few weeks, my body shape has changed noticeably and I feel fantastic.
Sheta has a unique ability to inspire her clients and as I keep saying to her “I want to look just like you! In saying this however, Sheta has a range of clients in ages, both men and women, all wanting to achieve different goals. She is able to tailor their workouts and menus to cater for all those diverse requirements. In short, I believe that Sheta is truly one in a million. Her abilities as a personal trainer are second-to-none and I am so delighted to be counted as one of her clients, she is exceptional and inspiring and keeps me striving towards my goals, no matter what.
ALISON – Testimony of an accidental runner
I am an accidental runner. I sometimes travel with my husband for his marathon photography business. In 2006 I ran my first 10km event on the grounds that it had to be more fun than watching him work. And it was. The Rotorua Marathon 10km fun run is a very pretty, flat two-lap course around the lake edge and Government Gardens area of the city.
From there, I won't say I was hooked but I did start entering other events that tied in with my husband's work. I found running offered a good opportunity to look into people's gardens and view parts of a city I might not otherwise see. The fact that it was good for me was merely a by-product of my natural nosiness.
"Training" consisted of a single run on Sunday mornings. This was raised to three times a week when I entered the Huntly Half Marathon in May 2008. I finished the run in 2h32m, close to my goal time of 2h30m and decided to stick to 10km events in future.
An unexpected bonus of the extra training for Huntly was slight weight loss. This wasn't enough to keep me running through the winter and, as my next event wasn't till November, I gave up till Spring.
That changed this year when the 2008 weight loss had suddenly reversed and I needed to do something more conscientious. I contacted Sheta.
Sadly, I learnt that a weights programme would not shed kilos and for the first time in my life I had to consider my diet and cardio requirements. Amazingly, Sheta's diet had me eating more food than I used to but it was higher in protein and lower in carbs and it worked. At the same time, I began running three times a week, doing weights twice a week and a Body Balance class once a week.
I’ve stuck with it all this year and I’ve enjoyed it! I’ve lost the few kilos I need to lose to feel good about myself and I feel ridiculously fit and healthy. I’m more aware of what I eat than I’ve ever been and I like to think my family has benefited also from my healthier cooking efforts.
This year I planned five competitive events. I ran my now-traditional Rotorua 10km in a personal best time (1h05s). In May, I was lucky enough to travel to China where I intended to run the Great Wall Marathon 10km event. As a bit of a challenge, I changed that to the Half Marathon just the day before. Running on the wall was never going to be fast but the 21km course also took me through rural Chinese villages and farmland I would never otherwise have seen. It was wonderful.
I entered the City2Surf in August as incentive to train for the first time through the winter. It was a 14km run from central Sydney to Bondi Beach on a glorious day that completely made up for training runs at 6am in temperatures as low as minus 3 degrees on the worst frosty Hamilton days.
I’ve also entered the Auckland Quarter Marathon (10.5km) in early November, followed by Round the Bridges (12km) two weeks later.
Running, of necessity, has become a part of my life. I’m not fast but I keep going – and I do so both because I enjoy it and because it is good for me. There is something peaceful about pounding the roads while the world is waking up, listening to birds call, watching trees change through the seasons, talking to cows as you pass by, waving to the cars that drive past and thinking without interruption.
That’s just the training runs.
Race days are a whole different experience. It’s a huge buzz to be amongst a crowd of people (75,0000 in City2Surf) – all with the same goal of enjoying their race and finishing well.
And somehow, regardless of the distance, it is always possible to summon up energy for a sprint to the finish line and a smile for those photographers!

My inspiration and encouragement are very much thanks to Sheta for her completely non-judgemental support and excellent programmes.
